MINISTRY OF CONSOLATION
The Ministry of Consolation
began serving our parish in 1999. Jesus taught that those who were in
mourning the loss of a loved one were to be seen
as in need of the care and concern of his disciples. The present Christian
community of OLV answers the call of Jesus with this very special ministry. The Ministry of Consolation
consists of parishioners ministering to parishioners. This is the vision
set forth by the Church in the revision of the Funeral Liturgical Rites.
These Rites of the Church ask that the
entire community, priest and
laity, be involved in ministering to
the family of the
deceased.
